August 17 is World Pedestrian Day, date was established by the World Health Organization in memory of the first case recorded in 1897, when Bridget Driscoll, a citizen of London, was killed by a motor vehicle. In the City of Buenos Aires, the pedestrian is the most vulnerable actor in traffic. 44% of those killed in sinister roads of 2018 were pedestrians. With the message "slow down, look and let pass", a group of activists used the traffic light cuts in the corners surrounding the Obelisk of Buenos Aires to show "the short time it takes for a pedestrian to cross the street and how important it is to give priority" .
