On his second day of Narendra Modi's visit to Bhutan, the small Asian kingdom located in the Himalayan mountain range also known as "the country of happiness", visited the Tibetan Buddhist temple. Surrounded by China in the north and India in the south, Bhutan saw the two military superpowers clash at the edge of their territory over a border dispute in 2017. The outbreak occurred on a strategic plateau called Doklam, located in the triple union between India, Bhutan and China. Both Bhutan and China claim that this remote mountainous region belongs to them. India supports Bhutan in its claim. After Tibet was invaded and annexed by China in the 50s, Bhutan immediately looked to India for friendship and security.
